Coach Momoe, Abe, Hamada, Tajima, Hanai, gender. Momoe is a charismatic and not particularly masc woman who wears the same uniform as the guys and has the boundless and stern self-confidence expected of men. Hanai initially is a bit sexist towards her, but after a show of brute strength he submits his will to her own entirely and treats her like an army general or a personal hero. He is in love with her on a level beyond girl = cute. In fact Hanai’s feelings for her are entirely concerned with her position as coach and motivator. His awareness of her being a woman is more to do with his respect for the stuff she’s gone through and the tightrope she walks than his feelings for her; Coach-Momokan who is a woman and Girl-Maria are mutually exclusive, one supplants the other. He’s not in love with someone who isn’t the Coach, he’s extremely aware that the Coach is a woman, but he also canonically abandons any expectations of her filling a feminine role. His attraction isn’t to her femininity and can’t be.
Tajima sees Hanai’s admiration for Momoe and jumps immediately to ‘crush.’ He himself has said he’s attracted to Momokan and would date her if she were his year. He doesn’t recognize that she views them all as kids rather than peers. To him, Momoe is a girl who is energetic like him, who loves baseball like him, who happens to be a few years older than him and knows more about stuff and can coach. Her being a girl, her desirability, her being his teacher don’t conflict because Tajima has no set concept of the roles. He has to get it pointed out to him that she stands apart in authority compared to Hanai’s hyper awareness of her authority, but he never forgets for a moment that she’s a girl you could crush on.
Hamada both jumps to thinking of Momoe as an attractive woman because of his mysterious sordid past and recognizes that she’s an adult and the rest of them are kids to her. He can see her as an object of affection because of her femininity, but absolutely can’t imagine her as a peer.
The rest of the team views her normally. She’s their coach who is also a woman, she has long hair, imagining her as a love interest is just weird uncomfortable and kind of odd.
Then Abe takes everything and turns it in the opposite direction. He has no concept of Momoe as a ~woman~ (desirable, attractive, charismatic) and because of that he also sees her as a woman. Let me rephrase. When the team discusses the ban on Shinooka confessions, the thought of Momokan as a love interest doesn’t cross anybody else’s mind but Tajima’s. Abe is the one who brings her up because—she’s a girl, technically, girls are in the acceptable dating demographic, ergo she’s also got to be off-limits. He’s so divorced from understanding the cisheteropatriarchal norm that he doesn’t understand womanhood being tied up in desire. All girls are equally just-normal-people, he can’t understand why the gang would crush on Shinooka (woman) and not Momokan (also a woman). Then later in his game with Shuu, he mentions that he didn’t really think of Momokan as a woman until then, and when he does, his first thought is—boy, that must have been hard. Gender is purely math to him. If you’re a girl, you have certain expectations and category tags. If you’re a guy, vice versa. There’s no intuitive understanding of how gender roles fit together. He’s just memorized them.
That comes around to the end of the circle. Abe resolves to win for Momokan just like Hanai resolves to win for Momokan. They both view her as their Coach and know she’s a woman. Hanai comes at it from the ambiguously romantic perspective. His admiration for her is dangerously intense, his motivation on her behalf is possessive and self-effacing, he devotes his will to her as a personal gift. Abe comes at it from a firmly student-mentor perspective. She’s sacrificed a lot to teach him, she’s skilled and she’s clever, he respects her deeply for accomplishing everything she has in spite of the challenges. He wants to win as a gesture of repayment and good clean friendship. There’s no push-and-pull or unspoken interest like he has with eg Haruna or Mihashi. They’re both motivated to win for Momokan and in completely different ways

So the clothing optional uchiha clan pride au where the clan is just topless with a clan tattoo is magnificent let me say that no matter where it came from. Combine that with the uchiha women coming up with necessary 'support' and turning that into a chakra armor/control thing for all clan members is just great! Now imagine the uchiha fighting anyone and the women have deceptively bouncing bazongas and the men have buns of steel and abs and biceps and all uchiha have killer legs and all is good!
The ask is too short dang it, but to continue about the clothing optional uchiha clan pride au since its canon that the uchiha are the clan with the largest and strongest chakra in all existence and they are also the clan that is filled with all of the prettiest people, yes this is a very serious clan trait, I headcanon for this au that all of the other clans in not just fire country but all of the other countries as well are the fanboys and fangirls of the uchiha even if they don’t admit it!
*cackles* @blackkatmagic had an ask that was the source for this AU and yes I agree wholeheartedly that it’s a magnificent AU. I’m all for clothing optional Uchiha! The idea that they use their Pretty for Evil is brilliant. Absolute gold star material. XD
I’m just imagining the Senju in their boilerplate armour heading out to “battle” the Uchiha after months/a year of inactivity and it’s nothing but tiddies as far as the eye can see. *snickers helplessly*
They’re trying so hard to take the blood feud seriously but Hashirama is beet red with his hands clamped over his eyes and he’s chanting Mito’s name on endless repeat. Tobirama’s got an excellent poker face for a teenager but his ears are bright pink and he nearly tripped over his own sword because Madara’s hipbones are distracting. Touka would laugh at them but Izuna is clinging to her arm and fluttering his unfairly long eyelashes and is asking in a breathless voice how much she can lift and sorry Touka’s not home right now call back tomorrow.
… Well shit looks like the Uchiha are all seduction specialists in this AU. Whoop.
I’m going to pin them as developing functional chakra armour for battle in Tajima’s generation, so canon history proceeded as normal up until that point. But by the time Madara and Izuna are old enough to take to the battlefield the chakra armour has been perfected to the point that it works better than physical armour. Given that the Uchiha are mostly speed-optimized builds the benefits of the reduced weight from leaving off the armour entirely trumps the concern for what happens when they run out of chakra.
Thus the toplessness. Hashirama never wanted to see that much of his childhood friend. Hashirama also regrets seeing Tobirama’s reaction to seeing that much of Madara. Hashirama’s life is suffering.
Butsuma’s spit-take is a thing of beauty. Tajima recorded it with the sharingan and he will treasure that memory for the rest of his life. It was totally worth pulling everyone in the Clan off missions for a year of retraining in the new techniques just for that image. XD
Suddenly everyone in the younger generations of the Senju Clan are much more interested in Hashirama’s plans to make peace with the Uchiha Clan. Even Tobirama is refraining from speaking against the possibility of peace. Hashirama has his suspicions as to why the sudden change of heart but he makes the conscious choice not to question it and simply accepts the advantage for what it is. Hashirama is well aware of the pitfalls of being a Yang-heavy Clan but ignorance is bliss especially when his ignorance applies to his little brother being in lust. XP
I’m going to tentatively assume that Black Zetsu tries to keep the wars going by arranging Butsuma and Tajima’s deaths before peace is actually achieved, but his frame job misses out on a few key points due to the rapid change in how the Uchiha do battle which makes it obvious after a bit of investigation that it was a set up.
Needless to say, the founding of Konoha goes very, very differently. ^_^

I wanna tell y'all about "Yasha"
Im not exaclty sure if this will be apart of the Acronym series but I am so in love with this idea that I can't put it down for long.
Will admit that this was inspired by @lossie92's generation swap AU where Madara is of the generation of Tajima and Butsuma whereas Tobirama is still Hashirama's younger brother and I think @wisia also did a generation swap but it was Tobirama being the younger brother of Butsuma while Madara is still same age as Hashirama. "A Tree's Uncle" if memory serves me right? Also inspired by a few "hopping alternate dimension" AUs that Naruto is famously ripe with
Have I got you attention yet? :))) Here we go:
The story begins with Hashirama and Madara meeting at the Naka river to contest their skills at skipping stones. Unknowingly to them, Izuna and Tobirama both have followed their older brothers and upon seeing unknown child meeting their older brother and perhaps be a threat, they run to their parental figure for help. (I am unsure whether I want Tobirama to be aware of who Madara is just by his sensing ability, meh that's a decision for later).
Izuna would later appear with Tajima. Tobirama would appear with Yasha.
Yasha is a young man. white hair, pale skin, blood red eyes, and red facial markings with a savage scar that is hard to believe he survived from. 'Yasha' is both Hashi and Tobi's older brother, Heir to the Senju Clan Head seat and a wraith on the battlefeild. Except here, he has no weapon in his hands and wore no armor.
Yasha deftly controls the confrontation, calmly deescalating rising hostilities and gently admonishes Hashirama for not telling anyone where he was. On the other side of the river, history remains the same where Tajima forces Madara to choose between his family and his new friend who he only just discovered was a Senju, the Uchiha's enemy. Everything seemingly remains the same, Madara gets the sharingan and chooses family, the two sides seperate and never meet again until the next battle.
However clearly something has changed. Tobirama, 9-10 years old, immediately went to get Yasha before he went to get Butsuma. Why?
Because both Hashi and Tobirama trust Yasha explicitly. As shown, Yasha deesculated the situation and put no blame on either child for making a friend. Everyone knows that Yasha is a terrifyingly strong shinobi (perhaps one of the strongest of their generation) but the two younger Senju brother's love and respect their Anija far more than Butsuma.
Then we find out that Yasha is not their real older brother. In a flashback we'll see Butsuma, frustrated from back-to-back losses against the Uchiha and a crying baby first born son back home, would meet a young teenager out in the forest one night in the middle of winter. The boy would appear like a demon, covered in gore, eyes giving that thousand-yard-stare like a seasoned vetran and Butsuma would take in this boy as "His gift from the divine" thinking that the boy would sooner lead the Senju to victory against the Uchiha and he would be Butsuma's perfect legacy. 'Yasha' as he would later be named, is made Clan Heir and his skill and terrifying genius would scare everyone into compliance.
It also doesn't hurt to see how obvious his love for his younger 'brothers' is. Yasha grows older and its clear that his talent, skill, and presence has turned the tide against the Uchiha until the war nearly comes to a standstill. We get the River Scene where now we realize tha by Yasha deesculating rising hostilities, Yasha has impressed upon Madara's mind that the Senju Heir and future Clan Head is someone who may be persuaded towards a dream of peace.
Butsuma will find out about Hashirama's friendship with the Uchiha boy and he would go into a complete rage. He would 'mysteriously' die and Yasha would be uncontested with taking the seat of Clan Head (also the Senju really like Yasha cause he's honorable in the old way of shinobi law and they're comparing him to Butsuma). All the Shinobi Major Clans would be notified of the death of Butsuma and new Clan Head and there's an unofficial ceasefire between the Senju and Uchiha.
A few years pass, Madara is now 15 years old when he goes out on a walk because of frustrating teenage hormones make him angry. He will stumble upon Yasha.
Now Hashirama did actually talk about his beloved older brother to Madara though back then he wasn't given a name. So there's two accounts of what Yasha is like and that only makes him curious. Yasha acknowledges the Uchiha's presence but says and does nothing against Madara. Madara bravely asks Yasha, the wraith of war, scourage of battlefeilds and consumer of misery, "How were you able to handle being Clan Head so young?"
Cause Tajima has been pushing Madara to take over and while Madara is a genius and has been trained for the position, he finds himself struggling a feels ashamed that sometimes he needs help. Yasha gives Madara an answer and offers some advice. This is the start of something new.
Yasha kinda...tutors Madara on how to handle different Clan Head aspects, what to pay attention to, What resources could be of help. Madara learns and soon it also becomes sparring and Yasha is so skilled that even if he can't overcome the power 15 year old Madara had, he has the skills to best the Uchiha 4/5 dances. With Butsuma now gone Yasha brings Hashirama back around to rekindle their friendship and he also brings Tobirama around. Now with all the Senju brother's around, Madara wonders if Hashirama was the one who's adopted cause he sticks out like mud against a snowscape. Tobirama and Yasha look alike.
A discussion will come up where both Madara and Hashirama are asking Yasha, "Do you think peace is possible?" and Yasha will reply, "I don't know."
This is when we find out the full truth through a series of flashbacks.
Yasha used to be called Senju Tobirama back in his own timeline. The thing is, his timeline does not reflect what we know Canon!Naruto events that took place.
Once upon a time a different Hashi and a different Mada would shake hands to declare a truce between the Senju and Uchiha after centuries of war. Except in this universe not a single foundational stone would be laid to begin building what we know to be Konoha. The Senju and Uchiha declared truce and upon foreign countries hearing about Hi-no-Kuni's strongest shinobi clans having come together in an alliance, the God-of-Shinobi and Calamity, joining hand-in-hand they immediately declared war as a prehemptive measure against Hi-no-Kuni's clearly pre-war preparations.
In a different world, the Senju and Uchiha end their own war and are thrown straight into another but upon the orders of the daimyo and with every other shinobi clan in Hi-no-Kuni on the front line. Tobiama would begin his career as a War General and tactician over the borders of Hi-no-Kuni. The Senju would be spread out and spread thin across multiple war fronts until it takes literal years for Tobi to hear from Touka again. This is how they lived and that's how they died.
Tobirama hear the news that Hashirama died facing off against forces of Earth and Lighting months after the battle, Tobiramas own focus was his defense against Water. Madara has gone missing and quite honestly Tobirama has no hope for any sort of peace. He is a weapon who only knows war and receiving orders.
He dies having his throat slit and body tossed into the cold open ocean.
He would wake up in a body that's barely familiar to him, cold, alone, in the middle of the woods. He would go home (quite honestly thinking he's dead) and the first face he see's will be one who looks so much younger and who he hasn't seen in 20-25 years.
He would call himself Yasha after the moniker he was known for in a past life. He would see his mother and he would weep at Hashirama's crib, not knowing the why or what happened but knowing that he couldn't allow what happened in his world to repeat in this one.
And thus our story begins. Now we'll see what happens next :)))
I have an idea.
Note to self cause I'm gonna forget: it's about "Yasha"

Summary: Reiji is in the hospital after the villain attack and his parents are coming into see him immediately
“Room 304... 3...0...4,” mumbled Sugai as Tajima quickly trailed behind him like a lost puppy.
When the two found out about the villain attack, they were distraught, and it was Tajima who was yelling at all the teachers and staff.
Sugai knocked on the door before a weak “come in” was heard, and he knew that belonged to Reiji.
“Oh my baby!” exclaimed Tajima before rushing over to the bed, Sugai not far behind him.
The boy looked awful. His hair was a nest, his eyes red and bloodshot, bandages all over his skin with some blood on them, and a large yet thin scar over his nose.
Tajima grazed a hand on the bandages, feeling his heart break at each injury on his son.
“‘m sorry,” choked out Reiji, barely even able to speak.
Instantly, Sugai asked, “Why are you sorry? I don’t recall any of this being your fault.”
Reiji sighed, his bandaged arms, legs, and chest looking rather painful, but he ignored them saying, “When that Spinner guy attacked me I was frozen. I didn’t know what to do and then... that came out,” he said, referring to his inner monster, when he overused his quirk.
“Serves then right,” Tajima huffed before his tone lightened, as he gently said, “None of that was your fault. And they had it coming.” Sugai nodded.
Shrugging, Reiji tried looking away before feeling a sudden pain before yelping.
Tajima kissed his forehead as carefully as he could before cupping a hand over his cheek, looking at the scarred nose.
“It’s permanent,” said Reiji under his breath before elaborating, repeating, “They said it’s permanent.”
The father, Sugai, wanted to clench his fist and go find these villains- and so help him, one day he will- but for now, he had to be there for his son, so he only brushed some of his locks comfortingly.
Tajima didn’t know what to say either, even if his son always wanted a scar to look cool when he was young, he knew that it probably changed with how he’s an insecure teenager now.
“Everything will be okay. It’ll take some time, but I promise you things will work out,” said Sugai kissing his son on the cheek.
Nodding along, Tajima added, “We’ll do whatever you need us too, just tell us. You don’t have to now, but it’d help if you do it eventually.”
Reiji smiled, even if it could barely be seen under all the bandages.
“Are you tired?” asked Sugai after seeing the boy yawn.
Blushing, Reiji nodded, but didn’t say anything since it felt painful to speak- so he kept it at a minimum.
Tajima grabbed an extra blanket the hospital provided before kissing the boy’s bandaged knuckle lovingly yet cautiously, careful not to hurt him.
“Can you guys s-stay with me until I fall asleep?” asked Reiji bashfully.
Chuckling, Sugai replied, “We never planned on leaving you, love.”
